Many a friendship has been damaged by a bridezilla, and this one is no exception. This person went to r/weddingshaming specifically because of their experience with a "nightmare of a bride" who kept insisting on taking up more of this person's time and money.
Some brides and grooms get this feeling of entitlement that their wedding is the most important event in the entire world. It can certainly feel that way: the pressure is high for people to have their wedding day go without a hitch. They're pouring money into the event, their entire family will be there, and they can't wait to enlist their friends into the preparations.
A common bridesmaid issue is that the bride's friends will happily agree to do wedding activities, only for the price of the event(s) to slowly grow over time. The bridesmaids then start panicking, realizing that an event they budgeted a few hundred for is starting to look like it'll cost into the thousands. Once they start panicking over the prices, they have a talk with the bride. Sometimes, the talk goes well, but a lot of the time, this is the talk that puts an end to the friendship.
