There is something so satisfying about seeing images of extremely specific childhood toys, household objects, locations, clothes, and accessories. So many of these things were such a common and seemingly inherent part of our lives. We didn't know that they would ever go away, and we didn't realize when they did. I don't think any of us noticed when we watched Maggie and the Ferocious Beast for the last time as it stopped airing in the early 2000s. We don't remember when we ate a Flintstones vitamin or Pikachu-shaped ice cream with gumball eyes for the very last time. Some of us may have had tearful partings with certain toys and plushies as we transitioned from childhood to adolescence, but some playthings seemed to just have disappeared without our notice. If you have particularly sentimental parents, you may find that they actually kept all the Disney-themed McDonalds figurines that you were obsessed with collecting that one summer, hiding in a dusty box in the attic.
