Kids these days are tough to entertain. They need their iPad, cell phone, and about 100 other gadgets before they'll play silently on their own and they'll still find you in 20 minutes saying they're bored. Back in the 70s and 80s, all you needed to do was hand a kid a lit sparkler, a cigarette, and an old viewfinder and you'd have them busy for the rest of the day.
When we were kiddos, back before the Internet took over, you could play for hours outside without ever having to check in with Mom and Dad. And by the time we were teens, we'd take the family station wagon to the drive-in for a movie and be thoroughly entertained. By the time we were partying in the 80s and 90s, well, we certainly had more fun than any of the party animals nowadays because we never had to worry about someone taking a video of us being silly or wild.
We were unashamed, untamed, and utterly unbridled.
That's why when we look back on those times in our lives, we see nothing but good vibes. So even though we broke our arm falling out of a tree or crashed our bikes into the bumper of Dad's new car, the '70s and '80s were the best. Scroll to relive some awesome memories with some Polaroid-style pics you'd find in a box in your auntie's attic.
