When you are in the process of looking for a new job, there are a few things you cannot know about the job until you actually start it, things that you can't really ask about while you are interviewing. One of those things is how the place of work tracks employees' work hours. There are places that demand you clock in and out every day using a physical card, there are places that simply require you to clock in with an app on your phone, and there are places that don't really care when you get to work and when you leave, as long as you do the job.
As much as every employee wishes to find a place of work like the latter, it is more likely they would land in a place like the first. Having a physical card to clock in every day can cause some issues, like what happened to the employee in this Reddit story, when one day they forgot their work badge at home.
