When you're in a workplace where you're constantly ignored, you can give up or double down. This person decided to double down, and it seems like their strategy paid off!
These days, a lot of offices are trying to employ modern techniques to get the best work out of their employees. One popular move has been to do away with cubicles altogether. Cubicles got a bad rep in early 2000s culture, and became an icon of workplace oppression. But if you've ever had a cubicle, you know that there are some perks. For example, you can have your own space, and organize it exactly the way you want. You can have a little snack drawer. You just have a space of your own where you can work uninterrupted.
These days, a lot of companies forgo cubicles to try out open office spaces instead. Now, everyone shares spaces at long tables, and since many of us only need laptops to work, you really can work from anywhere. But having ownership over your workspace is also important, as u/intrepidshe realized when their employer declined to give them an office over and over again. It was clearly a case of the employers favoring other workers over them, but they continued working and refused to give up hope. You can check out their entire story of malicious compliance down below.
Up next, this neighborhood couple is probably never going to get invited to another potluck event after they stole an entire tray of someone else's food to go!
