Often in the workplace, the reclusive and introverted workers will find themselves disadvantaged—no matter how productive they are—with none of the clout and relationship status to cash in and help them when things go wrong or misunderstandings occur.
Unfortunately, this situations usually involve some inability to talk their way out of a nonsensical request from management—the strong-headed manager having already made up their mind before they walked in the door that their "strange" quiet subordinate will be the least likely to give them grief about the task, then reacting poorly when they actually have something to say.
When the VP of their company demanded changes to a worksheet that mathematically didn't make any sense, this worker tried to explain their reasons for not wanting to make the changes. Despite their arguments, the VP insisted, and the worker was forced to proceed, resulting in exactly the results they had described and the VP blaming them for the entire situation.
