Lurking within that floofy, goofy kitten is the ancient memory of a swarthy predator with their senses fine-tuned to catch prey without detection. The mysteries of feline-ness evaded us. But nowadays, your housecat 'predator' only hunts for canned food, meowing for seconds as if the harvests of Fancy Feast will dwindle any day now.

Fortunately, now that their predatory instinct is all that remains from their powerful histories, cats have proven to be delightfully derpy house companions, watching us hoomans to their heart's delight and begging for tuna scraps when we least expect it.
