There is a lot of underrated labor that one must perform over the course of the day. We all know the basics: laundry, dishes, cleaning. But what about all the little tasks that go into making something happen? If you want to do a fun activity, there's a lot of planning required.
Say, for instance, you'd like to go to the beach. That requires picking a day, clearing the schedule, packing a bag making extra sure you have everything, planning an outfit you can be wet in, bringing a change of clothes, bringing at least two towels, figuring out your source of shade, selecting the right snacks, and making sure they stay cold. It might not sound like a lot. And sure, all you really need is a towel and a spirit of adventure, but to make something happen comfortably and seamlessly requires more effort. Hence are the hidden sides of adulting-- something this recent Twitter thread gave some good insight into.
