    30 Iconic Anime Characters Reimagined In Disney's Classic Style

    There's no doubt that American and Japanese animation have been in active conversation since their birth. The father of what we know as modern Japanese anime, Osamu Tezuka, was inspired by Disney's earliest animations. When he created Astro Boy, Tezuka looked to Disney's doe-eyed, expressive, and exaggerated characters, as well as Disney's character-driven story-telling structures. And that was just the start. While Western and Eastern animation have developed their own distinct features and styles, they continue to influence each other to this day. Even Disney's Pixar 3d animated movies have some noticeably Japanese influence.
    So, let's take a peak into a universe where our favorite Japanese characters were drawn by American hands. Most anime characters are unique enough to be recognizable even when interpreted in other styles, but one can't help but wonder how different the stories and character-arcs would have been if these animes had been produced by Disney. Would there have been a pumped-up, rallying song (à la "I'll Make A Man Out of You") each time the Survey Corps ventured beyond the wall to fight titans? Would L and Light have put aside their differences to fight some common enemy? One thing's for sure: Ryuk would have stayed exactly as-is, apple-loving and a little off-putting in a loveable way.
