In families, as in all relationships, it's important to be able to take no for an answer. It doesn't matter how many times I ask my sister to go to Six Flags with me: if she says no, we're not going! Obviously, it takes two to tango, but it takes one to listen and learn the boundaries and comfort levels of your loved ones. If you can't do that, I don't know what to tell you.
One pair of sisters recently got into a squabble over one not respecting the other's boundaries.
