While Millennials and Boomers bicker over who ruined modern society, Gen X sits idly by enjoying a perfectly prepared cocktail, while they watch the world burn. For some reason, the kids left alone all day with a house key dangling around their neck became known as the 'Forgotten Generation'. Gen Xers are self-sufficient nihilists with just as much misfortune as any other generation, yet we're the ones deemed 'unremarkable'.
However, it's Gen X who became society's first 'haters', it's Gen X who lived it up during the 80s, and it's Gen X who were the first nerds to teach themselves coding in order to mod Asteroids. Considering we were a generation that grew up without cell phones but still can enjoy the perks of a technological world, I'd say that Gen X won the generational lottery.
