Candidates make egregious mistakes during job interviews all the time and face the consequences, but what about the unprofessional recruiters and hiring managers who deserve to be called out?
Let's all remember the fact that an interview is a two-way street. Not only are you trying to present yourself as the right fit for a given role, but they should be presenting themselves as the right for you as a potential employer. So often the latter part of this dynamic gets lost as a result of social hierarchical structures. Candidates are conditioned to be their best selves because they might face the consequences of not getting the job or worse.
This candidate had enough sense to know that he was not the problem with why this interview went south. Thankfully, he did not take the blame. Instead, he took the opportunity to make it known to HR just how unprofessional, disinterested, and inconsiderate his interviewer was. Here's hoping that he faces some consequences too.
