We live in an interesting baby-naming age. New parents are constantly under fire for naming their kids things that make Apple Paltrow look like she has a Biblical name. Despite how far we've veered into casual naming territory, there are still some people who hold out on traditional first names, refusing to use a nickname for their children. There aren't that many Alexanders or Benjamins who are nicknameless.
One new dad is trying to make sure his baby won't be wholly cursed with a ghastly short name. He and his wife and having a difficult time compromising on a name for their baby. She wants to name their baby something they'd actually be called, whereas her husband only likes long, formal names that aren't nicknamed. He doesn't think short names like George or Piper are formal enough, and the names they've chosen aren't holding up to either of their standards.
