When we were young watching the beloved Spongebob Squarepants show, we related to fun and friendly characters like Spongebob, Patrick, or even Sandy. We booed characters such as Squidward and Plankton. However, as the original audience of that show starts to age well into adulthood, the relatability is starting to switch. We're starting to understand why Squidward was always over Spongebob's tomfoolery and why Plankton was frustrated with the system. Sheldon J. Plankton really had quite the villain origin story—Mr.Krabs was his bestie and he betrayed him. Plankton was never able to forgive him, so his life became a constant struggle to try and one-up Krabs. So it's honestly understandable to see why Plankton is the way he is and honestly, after living through the ups and downs of life 30+ years now, we get it.
