Imagine this scenario… You want to do something nice for your partner, so you plan some time away with them. Even as a bonus, you organize and pay for their son to come too after plans fall through to have someone watch him. This is no short trip either; we're not talking about a three-day holiday over Memorial Day weekend or anything like that; we're talking about a full ten days.
So, you book the tickets and pay for the accommodation—when you get there, your partner ditches you with their kid to babysit while they have the "time of their life" on holiday. If that wasn't grounds for ending the relationship already, it comes to light at the end of the trip that they've actually still been "seeing" their ex (the son's other parent) as well—and they've been doing more than just looking at each other.
So, you get on the flight home. The flight attendant comes up and offers your (now) ex-boyfriend a free seat upgrade to business class! But you booked the tickets, feeling less generous now after everything that has happened you argue that you should get the upgrade. The flight attendant argues that you should "stay with your son,"—cap-stoning the nightmare that has been this experience.
Lucky for this woman, she took the upgrade anyway and left her loser ex back in his original seat to look after his own child for once. They say no good deed goes unpunished, and that's certainly the case in this story, which was shared to this online community by this woman who was appealing to readers to see whether or not she was in the wrong for taking the upgrade after being condemned by some of her peers.
