A common thread from my experience and those of these professional nannies is the simultaneous mix of overbearing parents and absent ones. Some parents are controlling about academics and extracurricular activities but at the same time, they neglect to make sure their kids' needs and desires are heard. Sometimes, it's the kids who are the most entitled at the end of the day, and it's the parents who have no idea what to do with them.
