‘Why would I do anything for you’: Husband Feels He Doesn’t Need to Do Anything For His Wife For Mother’s Day Because She’s Not His Mother

Mother's Day, as happy and special as it can be, can also cause a lot of problems. There's nothing worse than when your expectations aren't met, especially if the bar was already set low. As a mother, expecting your husband to do something special for Mother's Day is the bare minimum. It's a day celebrating mothers, not just your own mother. It's a pretty ridiculous excuse, and just plain lazy. 

Expecting some gesture, a card, flowers, or a nice dinner, is completely reasonable. Even if you want a spa day, that's also reasonable. It's not like your husband has to do anything, they just schedule an appointment and buy a ticket. Doesn't seem like too much to ask for. It's easy to be gaslit into feeling like you're selfish if your husband basically expects he can do nothing nice for you, and still be happily married. The nerve of some men…did their amygdala not develop when they were a child? Some stunted growth or emotional intelligence? Why do women consistently need to teach grown men how to behave?
