Mothers deserve the whole world. We have a day every year just to celebrate them: they brought us into the world, raised us, and cared for us, even when we were too young (or too much of a teenager) to appreciate them. Lots of families go all out for Mother's Day, getting mom flowers and gifts. And of course, many families choose this special day to take Mom out to eat at her favorite restaurant.
While this is all well and good for the mamas of the world, it's a day that causes waiters some ire. They're stuck with an endless line of customers, some of whom didn't even make reservations. A lot of restaurants also make their menus limited on that day in order to serve the food faster, but this can upset some customers. Waiters replied to u/Kind-Investment-9939's question: "How was everyone's Mother's Day shift today?" More than 100 servers replied, sharing the good, the bad, and the absolutely insane things that happened to them on this special day. A few also mentioned that they wish they could've spent the day with their own moms, and hopefully, they'll get to next year after braving the restaurant crowds this year.
While we're on the subject of appreciating important people, check out the strange Teacher Appreciation Week gifts these teachers got, such as a tiny scrap of bubble wrap to pop for stress relief. Wow, such generosity.
