What's your worst first date story? We all have one. Some people fumble before the date even ends, while others make their date uncomfortable after the fact. Dating is such a delicate game, and many people just can't seem to get it right.
Like most things in life, dating takes practice. Apparently some of the people in this thread feel just fine about taking their dates to a fast-food restaurant on the first date. Even high schoolers have higher standards for dates than that! If you can't afford to go to a diner or a nice sit-down establishment, maybe just take your date for some coffee instead of insisting that they order from the dollar menu.
The original poster (OP) of this r/AskReddit question shared their own nightmare date story, which is lengthy, but worth the read. They write that a casual acquaintance kept bugging them to go for a date, even though he was not their type. Still, after six requests, this person broke down and agreed to the date. On the day of the date, he took the OP out for Japanese food, then rushed them off to a second appointment… at a weight loss center. That's right, this dude worked for that company, and apparently saw this date as an opportunity to make a sale. What a waste of time for everyone involved (because obviously the OP didn't give that man a dime).
After that, read about the company CTO who demanded to "see every line of code in this project" after becoming suspicious of his coders.
