Like John Mulaney once said, "It is so much easier not to do things than to do them, that you would do anything is totally remarkable." This is especially true about going to the gym. It is infinitely easier to stay home from the gym than it is to go. If you're even a little bit out of practice, the prospect of going to the gym seems less fun than… well, most anything else.
But the sad and true fact about life is that you usually feel so much better after working out. It may not be fun on the way there, it definitely might not be fun while you're doing it, but the afterglow is pretty real. But our brains trick us every time into not believing ourselves that it will be good, or perhaps we forget that feeling, that we have to start all over again the next day.
