There is a vast chasm between how often people do the laundry. If you're doing laundry for a family of 5, you will do it more frequently than a single person. I used to think I did my laundry an average amount, but after a recent Twitter discourse, I'm unsure. I do my laundry on the dot every two weeks. I will use one set of towels for about five days in a row before switching to a clean set, and I don't think there's anything weird about that. Maybe I have more clothes than the average person, but even after two weeks, I'm not usually running out of clean outfits; I'm just running out of the clean outfits I actually want to wear.
A single guy recently went viral for saying the annoyance of laundry was vastly overstated to him as a child since he only does it twice a month. That statement subsequently enraged parents and people who don't own more than one set of sheets or towels.
