Welcome to the middle of the week, dear animal loving hoomans. It has been a laborious week, filled with mindless meeting, desperate deadlines and awwdorable animals. The weekend is so close you can almost taste it, and we have got just the wholesome and heartwarming story to get you in the weekend mood. Because who does not like a little sweet animal story to melt away the stresses and frustrations of the working week.
Today we are enjoying the story of a poor abandoned kangaroo who was picked up and saved by a hooman family who nursed him through his joey phase and eventually brought him on as a full member of the family. For a society that has built itself on the inhumane farming of animals, we do have a soft side ever now and again, which is certainly nice to know. It would be much nicer, though, to see us extend this same kindness to the animals we eat who are at least as, if not smarter, cuter and cuddlier than this pawdorable baby kangaroo.

The benevolence of hoomans is what apparently sets us apart from our animal brethren (even though animals have been shown to show similar levels of kindness and empathy). And in this case it is a wondrous example of what these hoomans took it upon themselves to help this young kangaroo.
Proof that no matter what the species, a baby is a baby and all it wants and needs for is food, cuddles and love. Something so innately universal that no creature can resist its warm embrace at any age. We could all do with some of that right now, maybe we can change the expression from TLC to FCL…
