Playing DnD with your besties is a superior form of hang. Listen, I'm all for unstructured hangs. I love sitting in someone's living room with no agenda, just vibes, chatting the night away. But every now and again you might need a little game to make things interesting. You get to learn more about your friends and it's less anxiety-inducing when there are rules. Parlor games like Never Have I Ever are great for this, and so are drinking games like Cheers to the Gov'nor or King's Cup.
But in my humble opinion, there's no game that fires up a hang session like Dungeons and Dragons. It engages the imagination, lets you role-play, and solve puzzles together as a team. You will also surely learn about your friends through the ways that they play. It will separate the barbarians from the wizards and it will separate them fast. Then you can send each other these memes to bond over.
