His manager, however, who was seeking promotional opportunities and brownie points from the higher-ups, decided to be a stickler and to insist that the Redditor go home and return with pants. What this micromanager did not realize, however, was that the Redditor had already checked the company handbook to confirm in advance that he could wear shorts that day. That being said, he followed orders, went home, and returned to work in pants, though he still brought his shorts with him. When he spoke to a different manager, he explained what went wrong and got some much-deserved petty payback.
