'In 20 years that I own the property, have not seen such mess inside!!': High-strung landlord scolds tenant for having a mildly messy apartment

There's a vast difference between your apartment being mildly messy and being at risk for bugs and mice. I don't think there's anything wrong with leaving clean clothes in the laundry basket for a few days or leaving the book you're reading on the ground. As long as it doesn't rub up against the people you're living with, a little clutter is in no way the end of the world. 

One landlord recently went viral for harshly scolding their tenant, who had a slightly messy apartment. They claimed it was the messiest they had seen in 20 years, which is ridiculous if you see the photo evidence of the studio looking nothing like a hoarder's house. If you're a clean freak, this apartment might unsettle you, but it in no way should've gotten the reaction from the landlord that it got. Or maybe it should've! You be the judge.
