Update: 'My boss told me I was fired as an April fools joke': Boss flips out when employee won't come back to work after joke-firing

Worst April Fool's joke ever! This boss really is a fool for thinking he could play with his employee's emotions. 

April Fool's jokes are generally kind of annoying, but harmless. It's the day you lie to your partner that you're pregnant, wait for them to react, and then laugh as you remind them what day it is. Lots of pranksters love April Fool's day, since they get to break out all their funniest "gotcha" pranks on everyone around them. But at the workplace? April Fool's doesn't have a place in a corporate environment. 

This boss tried to play a funny prank on his subordinate. He apparently spotted u/--Savathun-- at their workplace that morning, told them they were fired, and started laughing. Before his employee could say a word, this jokester walked off! The employee took their boss seriously, and started packing up all of their stuff. They spent a couple of hours packing up, and at no point did their boss come over to check on them (or reassure them that they were joking). It's not a very funny April Fool's joke if you never tell the person you're kidding, right?
