Bosses don't have to be nice to their employees. Sometimes to gain respect you have to be firm with your employees, and they probably not going to like you for that, which is completely fine by a lot of employers, as long as things get done on the job. But still, many bosses managed to create a successful work environment while still having a good relationship with their employees, which is truly admirable.
That being said, even if your boss isn't nice to you, there are still parts of the job they have to respect. For example, this Reddit story is of an employee who quit their job and handed in their two weeks' notice. But even after those two weeks were over, the employee noticed that they were still scheduled to work the next week. They told the manager about it, but apparently, that was no help. The next Monday, the now ex-employee gets an angry call from the boss asking why they didn't show up for work.
This led to a whole unpleasant conversation, so scroll down to read the rest. Once you are done, click here for a story of an unpaid intern who had to quit because of their so-called boss.
