I have a very interesting job that requires me to look at memes all day. It's a wonderful thing most of the time. Hey, we're all here because we love memes. We laugh at them, we find them relatable, and we share them with our friends. But sometimes the memes are too much with us. Sometimes everything is so ironic that it starts to rot my brain. This is where anti-memes come in. They take the beloved format of memes and strip them down to their essentials, so they are completely understandable and make sense. They soothe my irony-soaked brain and make me feel warm and fuzzy inside.
Anti-memes are wholesome at their core, even though they were born through even more layers of irony. They're peak meme. They make you think about internet culture. They remind you that this meme business is silly business indeed, and we shouldn't forget about that.
