I sometimes think about the information that is stored in my Brain and how it's about 85% movie quotes and useless trivia about pop culture. If you asked me what my social security number was or what I had for breakfast I Would just stand there, staring at you for a good minute until I give up and declare that I have no idea. But for some reason, I know that Gandalf's horse is called Shadowfax and that the planet in the alien movie is called lv-426. Why? Why would my Brain decide to store that information but not my parent's wedding anniversary date? Why is it necessary for me to know that TIE fighter stands for "twin ion engine" in the Star Wars canon, but that the real reason it's called TIE, is because it's an acronym for "the Indian elephant" because the sound it makes is actually a recording of an Indian elephant?
