Living in New York City, I'm no stranger to absurd prices being thrust into my line of sight every time I go to the grocery store. The grocery store near my office recently started selling rotisserie chicken. Instead of selling it for $5 a bird, as any self-respecting grocery store would, they're selling it for 19 smackeroos! Last week, I saw a guy leaving with one of these absurdly expensive chickens in his arms, and I couldn't help but feel disgust towards him. Unless your mother is dying and the only thing that will save her is a nearly $20 chicken that's spun around a couple of times, then there's no reason to be purchasing such an atrocity.
Some people don't know how to budget correctly, like one dude who recently went viral for blaming the president for a cookie he regularly purchases costing $18.75. I don't know whose fault that is, but I don't think it's the president.
