Over out time writing for Animal Comedy, we have come across an endless number of tear-jerking animal rescue stories. We have seen everything from from lions that were rescued from a circus tasting freedom for the first time, to horses getting rescued from being stuck in ice for over four hours, to leopards getting pulled out of 50-foot wells after getting exhausted and being unable to get out themselves. And the thing that always strikes us about these stories the most is how aware the animals seem to be that they are being helped.
Wild animals fear humans, and for good reason, we know that. But when they are in need of actual help, they put that fear aside - for a moment - and allow the scary humans to help them. Often times, they even show gratitude for it, and each and every time that it happens, it's one of the most wholesome and heartwarming things that you could ever see.

We can only imagine what it must have been like to come across this animal. We can only say that we are thankful that they saved this deer. We don't know if the way they went about it was ideal, if anything could have been done better, for the mere fact that they did it, we have to applaud them and thank them and hope that they will be an example for others as well.
Whether there is anything religious about this or not is beside the point. The point is that animals truly do seem to recognize that we want to help them when they are in need of help. They might run away and not show their gratitude, but they will remember, we're sure of it, that day when the spooky humans did a good thing for them.
