Getting promoted without a raise… Tsk, tsk. It's almost like managers want you to work twice as hard without being properly compensated… Oh wait, that's actually what they want. So silly of me.
This technician was working on large machines, and the site he worked on was across a border, so he had quite a commute every day. Unfortunately he didn't get any mileage because it was the site he was assigned. Alright, fair enough (Is it though?). After some time, the technician got promoted to work on more complex projects, which sounded good, until he was informed he would not be getting a raise because it wasn't 'in their budget'.
We've all heard those words before… 'Not in our budget'. Sure it isn't, Karen. In any case, the technician decided to maliciously comply with management… and found a way to receive a 50% pay bump nonetheless. This just goes to show that upper management doesn't always win.
