Another thread about the insecurities that develop when your heart is on your sleeve: jealousy. It's a normal and common emotion, and gets especially triggered the more open you are to being hurt. This term is thrown around a lot, and unfortunately stereotypically tethered to females (I, object). Everyone feels it! Men just take it out in different ways than girls (other than repression). 

Insecurity, although painful, is easy to fix. It takes a lot of self-reflection from the individual, to hash out their past and discover why they feel insecure and how they can boost their confidence, and it also depends on their partner. When you're intimate with someone, they have the potential to make or break that feeling of security. If they use abusive tactics like name-calling, shaming, maliciousness, or control to try to defend themselves, well you're going to end up in a worse position than if you never told them how you feel. The point is to knock down any unsafe feelings your partner has by reassuring them that your heart is theirs. See, relationships don't have to be that hard.
