In our humble, yet very well-educated, opinion, there is no such a thing as a cat that is "too old". Senior cats are pawmazing. Yes, they may be a little slower and a little less energetic, but senior cats make for great pets. They will appreciate you like no other. They will give you an endless amount of love. You will spend every waking moment trying to make every single day that they have left the best day of their lives, and every bit of love that you give them, they will give you tenfold.
Senior cats may require a little more attention, and they may even require that you make some adjustments, but we promise you that each and every one of those adjustments will be worth it, even if they are hard, even if one of those adjustments means giving your senior cat a better life with someone else.

Not going to lie, our first reaction to this post was to gasp and think that the family that left him was so wrong for it, so we are super glad that you clarified. While we think that 99% of times, it is wrong for a family to give away the cat that has been with them its entire life… this might be that 1% case where it was right.
He really does look happy in his new home, and isn't that what truly matters at the end of the day? We think it is. And we're also happy to hear that his old family comes to visit do often. We hope that these visits make him happy and that they will continue for a long, long time.
