When most people start looking for a house or apartment, high on their priority list is a decent amount of space. Sadly, there are certain places in the US where this comes at a premium — and New York City is one of the areas most infamous for this. Ask many New Yorkers about their experiences of house hunting and they will probably have a horror story or two.
Many such stories will have something to do with square footage, but not all will be as unusual as one example that went viral on Twitter recently. A photo showing two doors to different apartments squeezed into a narrow corner had many feeling baffled, as well as more than a little claustrophobic. It's fair to say you would need to have a very forgiving relationship with your neighbor to live in one of these. It puts every annoying banging noise coming from upstairs into perspective.
