The current era of Disney films is constantly giving me mixed feelings. On the one hand, I think the plots that are no longer love-based are important and, if done right, are very educational for young kids. On the other hand, I feel like this strong need to steer away from love stories kind of got out of control, and it makes me genuinely miss the old films and their simplicity. Every time a new Disney movie comes out nowadays, I hesitate about whether or not I should go and see it. But I think it is important to remember, for us Disney adults, that we are (sadly) not actually the target demographic for these films anymore, and as long as kids enjoy it, the people of Disney must still be doing something right.
