It's truly shocking what people think they can and should put on their resumes. First, there are the generic, eye-roll-inducing statements like "self-starter," "hard worker," and "go-getter" that truly mean nothing substantial. Then, there are the clearly embellished bullet points added to one's employment descriptions. Furthermore, there are the folks who think it's necessary to expand on their education history by including ridiculous information like where they went to preschool. And let's not forget about the strange lists of hobbies and special skills that have absolutely nothing to do with the job to which they are applying.
This collection of instant turn-offs was provided by the recruiters of Reddit, who had much to say about what not to do when looking for work. Keep scrolling below for the full list and be sure to adjust your own resumes if any of these points apply to you. When you're done, check out this collection of workers who gladly let customers speak to the manager.
