When booking a hotel room, one typically has the expectation of privacy—that's actually kind of the whole point. You're paying a relative premium for accommodating service and reliable accommodation… This is opposed to an Airbnb, hostel, or any other type of accommodation where you'd be sharing a room or have some kind of other lasting interaction with other people. With a hotel, you'd generally expect to have your own "private" room for the duration of your stay, save only for your two conversations with the front desk to check in and check out—interrupted only by room service.

They shared their experience with a popular online community where their account of their experience went viral, generating an outraged response from readers.
