Every single person who is married or in a long-term relationship will tell you one of the most important things you need to work on as a couple is how to compromise. We would say it's as important as complimenting each other regularly. If each person in the relationship keeps thinking of themselves and how they benefit from the other, we can tell you right now, it will not work out. More than that, we believe a strong relationship is also built on the ability to engage in activities the other enjoys, even if it's not your personal cup of tea. It might be annoying or weird and even flat-out boring, but if it makes the person you love happy, then why not do it?
That's why it makes us a little bit sad to hear of partners who will not do the little things to make their significant other happy, like the OP's husband in this Reddit post. Not only did he disrespect her wishes to get a nice family photo for Christmas, but he went as far as coming to the photo shoot and completely ruining the photos that were taken. From reading her side of the story, it seems to us that he definitely needs to learn a lesson or two about compromising in a relationship.
