I'll be honest, a few years ago I thought that the internet had probably leveled out in terms of how addictive it was. There were just so many different sites, apps, and distractions that it seemed impossible for its time-wasting potential to expand even more than it already had.
You know what comes next: I was proved wrong because TikTok came along and changed the game. That personalized algorithm and endless scroll made short-form video something impossible to escape, and all of us users were more than happy to fall into that trap.
Fast forward to now, and the clock app takes up a large chunk of the screentime report of millions. At least it brings us some humor while it does it. Plus, a lot of it is easy to screenshot. Even better! That is double the material for the endless churn of the content mill, and we're thankful.
