This teacher had no time for games. Instead, they had to give their student a giant F on their paper.
Students have been trying and sometimes succeeding at cheating for millennia. Since the dawn of time, some kid will try to write answers to a quiz on their arm, or scribble answers onto their desk before a test. The popular cheating method in the mid-2000s was getting a Gatorade bottle, ripping off the wrapper, writing the answers down on the inside of the wrapper, and then putting it back together. The student can easily read the writing inside their innocent-looking beverage. However, teachers weren't born yesterday. So they just banned beverages during tests and quizzes. The students were defeated once again.
Not to sound too old, but the kids these days have technology most of us could never have imagined even a few years ago. With the advancement of large language models, lazy children can put in a prompt, and within seconds, have a full paper written out for them. I see the temptation. On one hand is academic integrity, on the other is wanting to go over to your friend's house to play video games instead of working on a paper for hours. The choice for these kids must be so simple… until they get caught, that is.
