About 15,200 students got an unfortunate email from their college.
After several semesters of college, it's that time of year once again: finals. Final exams are notorious on college campuses, and many of them build events around it. At my college, the campus coffee shop would remain open 24/7 during finals week. There were a surprising amount of students joining me at 2 AM to study and churn out last-minute papers. In addition, the school would hold events where you could destress by petting puppies. It was just a big room full of a dozen students and a dozen tiny pups! Ironically, those events meant to reduce academic stress always seemed to be happening during the hours I was in class. Regardless, both those things are good ideas to support students as they navigate end-of-the-year papers and finals.
For these university students, finals stress didn't evaporate after the professor said, "Pencils down." Instead, about 15,200 of them got an email you'd never want to get from your school. You can check out the email this person shared below, as well as comments and advice from other Redditors. The OP added more information in the comments, and mentioned that they'll add an update once they have more details to share.
