Living in a neighborhood with an HOA is like having a stern substitute teacher in school, overlooking your shoulder and telling you to start writing in cursive because it looks better.
You don't actually hold any respect for them but you are sort of forced to listen… to an extent. That's what this Reddit user's experience was when dealing with their HOA who told them off for setting up cameras that partly overlooked one of the HOA board members' yards. Let's call her Karen because OP insisted.
Karen stomped up to OP's house one morning and told them that they were violating bylaws stating that they can't be a 'nuisance' to their neighbors. Which was ridiculous, considering Karen was actually the one being a nuisance. For context, the cameras that OP had installed were grayed out in the areas of Karen's yard. Yes, you can do that with cameras. Still, it wasn't enough and Karen took it to the board, resulting in a really, REALLY long game of revenge that the HOA lost, miserably. Scroll down to read the details of how it all played out.
