Some people out there in the world will forever surprise us, and today, we have one of them right here. When you, as cat people, scroll through the interwebs and see people posting their fundraisers for their sick cats who need help, chances are you want to help out. No matter how bad the situation is, no matter how sick the cat may be, no matter how low the chances of survival, we all want to help. We desperately want these sick cats to be better. And that's how the situation started here.
The person in this text exchange clearly wanted to help this kitty get better, and so, they donated to the cat's fundraiser, only to realize… that the cat is 6 or 7 years old. Now, you'd think that wouldn't change anything, but apparently, for this person, a 6-year-old cat is "too old" for medical care and "should be put down." Imagine our shock. Imagine the cat owner's shock. And now, imagine the internet's shock, and the internet was so shocked that they, collectively, decided to pay off all of this cat's medical bills. Sometimes, the internet gets things right, and we love to see it.

This cat really is "just a baby". A six/seven-year-old cat has such a long life left to live. It's true - sometimes, tragedies do happen, and our kitties cross the rainbow bridge a bit too soon, but we have heard of cats living into their late twenties happy and healthy. Six is nothing.
It's the "kind" tone that's probably the worst part of this exchange. It's the fact that the person sending these messages seems to genuinely think that putting a young sick cat down is the right thing, the kind thing. We knew, in theory, that some people like this existed, and yet… seeing it happen is still shocking.
