If you are not on the reservation, you don't get a key, simple as that. But one guest's wife found that astoundingly hard to believe when she tried to check in at a hotel where her name wasn't registered. Granted, her husband was staying there, but just because you have a spouse who paid for a room doesn't necessarily mean you get to show up and get served a key on a golden platter.
The front desk clerk was just doing their job, as people working in customer service usually are, but you can't weed out all the Karens… Some are gonna show up, regardless. What fun would our jobs be without a bit of action? So, OP, the front desk clerk, was just minding her own business when an entitled guest waddled right up to her and asked for a key to her husband's room. OP asked for her name, looked it up, found that it was nowhere to be found, and told the guest that she could call the room and try contacting her husband because OP wasn't at liberty to give her a key.
Right after that came the inevitable 'Wh-a-a-a-t?' but OP did not budge. Find out how this encounter ended below… You might be surprised. Next up, a housemate who didn't give their roommates a heads up when they left and turned off the electricity, leaving them all quite literally, in the dark.
