Cooking is many different things to many different people. For some, it's simply the cheapest means of filling the stomach of themselves and their family. Gross food has been a big part of the internet culture diet for a long time, and there's a good reason why. It's so visually arresting that it can't help but make the perfect engagement bait. Taste is a very strong sense — anything that evokes it is bound to get a reaction. Whether whipped up for the sake of annoying people on the internet or an unfortunate plate that happens to be a restaurant meal, these things are a sight to behold. Who knows, maybe somebody would eat them.
