I'll be the first to admit, I'm not a STEM girl. I'm a humanities baby through and through-- I was born through the miracles of literature and will die in the annals of history. That does not mean, however, that I don't bow at the altar of science every now and then. In college, to fulfill a general education requirement, I took a beginner's Astronomy class. It was a classroom full of humanities majors getting their minds blown by the secrets of space and having mild panic attacks at the prospect of doing math. It was one of my favorite courses of my academic career. Learning basic facts about the universe should be a requirement for everyone on earth. After all, the universe is our home.
Some of these physics memes go over my head, but they're ripe for the taking for all you budding Stephen Hawkings and Albert Einsteins. Just don't go full Oppenheimer, okay?
