I don't know who needs to hear this but girl, it's time we start setting better boundaries for ourselves! When you really think about what is a boundary, you think of an imaginary line we draw to communicate what kind of treatment towards us is acceptable and what is not. When we were born, we didn't know about these boundaries. But the older we grew, the more we learned.
At first, we don't even know what our boundaries. We might let people come too close or take too much from us because we're still figuring things out. But the more we interact with others - family, friends, partners, or therapists - the more we understand what feels right and what doesn't.
Life is a journey filled with trial and error periods, and that's okay. It is up to us to take these errors and make something good out of them… like lessons learned.
