It's that time of the year again, everybody! When you work at a place that needs to keep running during the holidays. This can include the service industry, retail, and even tech! Bet you have never even thought about how sight security and coding needs to continue smoothly even during the holidays. That means employees are trading shifts left and right to try and get a day off to spend with their loved ones. Most places you can just discuss it like adults amongst your coworkers and figure out which days you all can get off and who can cover who. In this tech department, according to the Reddit post, one employee tried to have her cake and eat it too by attempting to dupe a coworker into covering her Thanksgiving Day shift. They had previously discussed switching and the coworker offered money to switch shifts. OP agreed, but then found out that the boss was told they were "extorting" money from a coworker. Turns out that the coworker was trying to go back on their deal, but still have them cover their shift. Well, what comes around goes around and now that you've narced, they can't cover your shift and no one else wants to ever cover your shifts. Who's the fool now?
