This person's friend approached them with an interesting job offer, and they agreed to take the gig. But for some reason, their friend now feels entitled to holding this "favor" over their head for the foreseeable future. What kind of friend does that?
Not every person who claims to be your friend actually is. They might think they're being nice, but if they're talking about you behind your back or they're secretly contemptuous of you, word will eventually spread back to you. This person had a social media friend who thought she got them a job. But actually, the OP of the story, u/ProfileElectronic, hadn't taken the friend's job offer, and instead worked with the company's HR to arrange some better pay for themselves. A real friend would've been thrilled for them, but this woman just wanted her friend to thank her over and over forever. She just couldn't get over the fact that her friend was successful…at least the OP realized it and managed to counter her new demands.
